Zion Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Detroit is a parish in the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. A fragile but lively inner-city congregation, Zion has parishoners from various ethnic, religious and socio-economic backgrounds. Zion is committed to outreach and ministry within the neighborhood and surrounding communities in Metro Detroit.
Because the mission of Zion Church is to bring the Gospel of our Lord in preaching and the Sacraments, Zion embraces the use of the sacramental and liturgical worship of the Lutheran Church. You will find that Zion aspires to worship that is beautiful, reverent, traditional and inspiring. We want visitors to know that when you're at Zion, you know you are standing before the holy God.
We welcome you to join us at Zion anytime. Our Pastor, Rev. Fr. Mark Braden, is available to minister to your needs, and our people are eager to make your acquaintance.
Zion is a congregation of the English District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
